Our team is working hard to transition with funding opportunities over the summer of 2024. Our executive director graduated from Augustana University with bachelors in sociology & philosophy and minor of Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies. After over 20 years from beginning college as a nontraditional student as a woman from a poor and working class background navigating through mental health support issues that involved justice system and ultimately single parenthood for 5 years this achievement demonstrates the barriers that prevent graduation and the impact support from nonprofits like Transforming Wealth can have.
We’re excited about upcoming events and collaborations with the CHWSD, Sioux Falls Mutual Aid, and more groups this summer.
As we navigate we need your help to cover the basic costs to ensure we continue our work in community, our goal is $10,000 for 5 hours a week for three positions June, July, and August along with basic website, phone, and administrative costs. Anything additional will go towards community asks, events, and additional staff hours.
We have a great group of supporters who give monthly and know that our work enables access to resources in community with support, education, and connection focused on basic needs.
